Eggshells and Watermelons

It's amazing what you can do with a laser beam and a watermelon.

It's the kind of Chinese art that reminds me of the Focused art in Vernor Vinge's Deepness in the Sky.

They were beautiful landscapes... Every one was surreal in lighting and geometry, but precise down to the detail of individual threads of grass. "Normal, happy people didn't make those pictures."

I would love to see what a good artist would do with watermelons and laser beams. There's some kind of sadness in the stiffness and conventionality of these pieces. The artlessness of them.
