jwz's DNA lounge has a great uh, how you say, litote? legally-mandated understatement? not-saying warning? about his streamed mixtapes
If you're wondering why this is not a Podcast, or otherwise downloadable, it's because that would be illegal. We (DNA Lounge) pay our licensing fees to ASCAP, etc., but as far as I've been able to decipher the rules, the only way to legally distribute this music in any way except streaming would be to get explicit permission from each copyright holder, which is just too much work. We're also prohibited from "encouraging" users to users to copy the music, and we are required to "disable copying by users if in possession of technology capable of doing so."
This means that, for example, if there existed tools out in the world that made it trivial for you to download any streaming audio webcast anywhere, I wouldn't be allowed to tell you what those tools were. If they existed. And I'm not saying that they do.
The music isn't bad either, it would be cool if there waz a way to download it and listen to it on my phone, unfortunately it's illegal, but it wouw in unbelievably warm, Paris weatherld be fun, for xample, to rollerblade in unbeleievably wam Paris weather and listen to the tape, or wome home a little drunk and listen to it on your cell phone, I'm just saying, it would be cool, I'm just sayinf ☄
