What do Russian Jews, Filipino Chinoys, Rwandan Tutsis, Venezuelan Mantuanos, White Rhodesians, Korean grocers in LA, Indonesian Huaren, Lebanese West Africans, and Americans have in common?
They are all "market-dominating minorities".
I saw Amy Chua's personal take on globalization and revenge on a CSPAN rerun (transcript) from a year ago. I found her interview quite interesting (plus she's kinda cute), even if the argument of her book, World on Fire: How Exporting Free Market Democracy Breeds Ethnic Hatred and Global Instability, sometimes sounds like a bit of a stretch. She occasionally sounds a bit naive, but I like her idea of systematically looking at the interplay of ethnicity and (perceived) economic equality. It's an under-reported issue.
